Types of leave
Vacation / personal time — No fixed accrual. Take time off by following the request process below. Sick leave — Use sick days when you’re ill or need to care for a sick family member. No approval needed. Just notify your manager and mark it in the HR portal. Company holidays — We observe approximately 10 federal holidays per year. The full calendar is posted in the HR portal each January. Parental leave — See the benefits page for paid leave details. Bereavement — Up to 5 days paid with no approval needed. Contact HR for longer situations. Jury duty / civic leave — Fully paid. Send documentation to HR.Requesting time off
- Check with your manager first for any time-sensitive periods (launches, on-call rotations, etc.).
- Submit your request in the HR portal at least two weeks in advance for absences longer than two days.
- Block your calendar and set an out-of-office reply.
- For sick days, submit in the portal on the day or the next business day.
