All devices used to access company systems — whether company-owned or personal (BYOD) — must meet our minimum security requirements.

Company-issued devices

Company laptops and phones are enrolled in MDM (Mobile Device Management) automatically. MDM enforces:
  • Full-disk encryption
  • Screen lock after 5 minutes of inactivity
  • Approved OS versions
  • Endpoint security agent
  • Remote wipe capability
Do not attempt to remove MDM profiles or disable security software. Doing so may result in loss of access to company systems and disciplinary action.

Personal devices (BYOD)

If you use a personal device for work email or Slack, you must:
  1. Enable a screen lock (PIN, password, or biometric)
  2. Enable full-disk encryption
  3. Keep the OS up to date
  4. Not store sensitive company data locally
Personal devices are not enrolled in MDM unless you opt in. If IT needs to wipe a personal device in a security incident, only the work profile (if applicable) will be targeted.

Approved and prohibited uses

Approved:
  • Work tasks, communication, and collaboration
  • Personal use that doesn’t interfere with security or performance
Prohibited:
  • Installing software that circumvents security controls
  • Storing company data on personal cloud storage (use approved tools)
  • Connecting company laptops to untrusted networks without VPN
  • Sharing your device with family members for work tasks

Lost or stolen devices

Report lost or stolen devices to IT immediately via #it-help on Slack or email. IT will remotely lock the device and initiate a wipe if necessary.

End of employment

Return company devices on or before your last day. Retained or unreturned devices are subject to recovery and potential legal action.
